About Leah Brighton

About

What does it take to land your dream career? Leah Brighton has spent over a decade finding out, speaking to one candidate at time, understanding one company at a time, and one pivotal conversation at a time.

From advising provincial ministers and contributing to landmark federal legislation, to scaling talent programs at Wealthsimple during hypergrowth, Leah has navigated nearly every environment a career can take you. She founded Dream Career Today because she saw a gap: brilliant people losing out not because of what they knew, but because of how they showed up. And companies at every stage: bootstrapped, seed-funded, Series B and beyond; all struggling to find the right people to grow with them.

Today, she channels thousands of candidates' experiences into coaching and consulting that gives you the success without the scars.

Career Services: Unlock Your Dream Career

Great work alone is not enough. You have to know how to communicate your value; and that's where most careers stall.

With a Master's degree in Speech Science and over a decade of coaching experience, Leah applies the science of communication to help professionals do exactly that. She works with individuals to unlock their next leadership role by sharpening how they tell their story, position their expertise, and show up with confidence in every high stakes moment, from interviews to executive conversations to salary negotiations.

The result is more than a polished resume. It's a professional who knows their worth, can articulate it clearly, and has the tools to move faster and further than they ever could alone.

Advisory Services: For Companies Ready to Scale

Dream Career Today also partners with companies at every stage of growth to meet their hiring and talent needs. Leah has worked with organizations including Instacart, Q4, Winterlight Labs, Security Compass, and more; bringing a rare combination of insider hiring expertise and strategic advisory experience to every engagement.

Leah serves as an advisor to Ontario's Minister of Education, and as a strategic advisor to MT>Ventures, McCarthy Tétrault's ventures division, where she leads educational seminars for founders navigating some of Canada's most ambitious growth trajectories.

Whether you're building a team from the ground up or scaling through your next chapter, Dream Career Today brings the insight, the frameworks, and the experience to help you get there.

Beyond the Boardroom

Beyond her corporate and advisory work, Leah is the founder and president of Asian Adoptees of Canada, the first adoptee led organization of its kind, and a national nonprofit she has built and sustained for nearly two decades. Through programming across heritage, education, and community connection, AAC has become a cornerstone for adoptees across the country.

Because for Leah, building people up has never just been a profession. It's who she is.

What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.

What sets us apart isn’t just our process; it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose and every conversation.
